When I was little and saw signs for a garage sale I wondered where people parked their car when they sold their garage.
I didn’t really wonder how they moved the garage though. You see I lived on a dead end. All my life the state planned to build a highway down below the dead end so they moved the two houses that were in the line of construction to different lots in the nieghborhood.
If you have never seen a house jacked up and moved you are missing out. I got to see it twice.
Oh yeah I also was granted the gift of not seeing the highway built until I was grown and gone. Thank goodness. The highway displacde the woods and aquaduct (the path that carried water from the mountains to Nw York City) where I spent most of my young years alone in Nature.
