You always attract who you are, right? So the fact that I have so many really great friends tells me I must be a really great friend.
Since I moved across country, leaving my East Coast home of 56 years- where my family and long-time friends still live – I needed to make new friends. In fact, since I rarely travel East my new friends became my family here.
Thank goodness. Losing my cat two weeks ago was a most traumatic ordeal and I feel very thankful for my dear friends who were here in person. Of course I could also feel my dear family and friends with me in spirit. But sometimes you need the physical hugs as well as the spiritual hugs. Know what I mean?
So how do you become a great friend and allow great people to come into your world? Consider the needs of the other person. Be there for others. Ask how you can help make their life better. Let them know you are there for them.
Honor, respect and appreciate who they are – exactly as they are. Every person needs to feel honored, needed and appreciated – every single one of us.
When you remember to see each person as the expression of the Divine then loving them and welcoming them, appreciating and honoring them, becomes automatic.
Today I am celebrating my birthday. I had hoped to be back East with my friends who I have not seen in two years or more. Losing Oreo kinda turned my world upside-down. Thankfully my friends here will join me later today for a fun time.
