Happiness is Your Birth Right – Do You Live There?

Happiness is your birth right and default mood when you were born. It is your starting point not a goal to pursue.

Do you LIVE life or does life pass you by? Do you think everybody else is better off than you? Are you happy? Or did you give up on your dreams and desires?

Change: How To Make the Changes You Know You Want To Make

You know you want to make some life changes. Your life is not working out quite the way you expected it to. You are not at the place you planned to be by this point. Happiness eludes you.

Congratulations on knowing you need to take different actions than what you have so far in order to achieve new and different outcomes. After all, if you keep doing what you’ve always done then you’ll keep getting what you’ve always gotten.

Great. So you know you want to change. The questions is how in the world do you make those changes? How do you step out of your box and walk a new path?

How do you teach an old dog new tricks? One step at a time.

First decide what you want to change. How will your life look, what will your daily experience be like when you live with the new habits in place?

My guess is your list of desired changes includes more than one behavior. The thing is you will not succeed at all if you jump into many different new behaviors at once.

The only thing you will experience is overwhelm. And overwhelm quickly leads to quitting.

To really live the life you dream about you want to be persistent and consistent in acting on new behaviors while ceasing to perform all the behaviors that keep you stuck.

Sounds simple. The trick to accomplishing that desired result is to take just one small step at a time.

Start today by doing just one small action differently from how you used to do it. If you put your left pants leg on first then today put your right pants leg on first. If you take a right turn out of your driveway when you leave home then starting today make a left turn and create a new way to your destination. (Get the metaphor?)

You can do one small thing easily, right? You can commit to making one small change and follow through consistently, yes? I am talking about one thing.

Decide which one thing you will change this week and do it every day for a week and then, after successfully adding this one new small change – then add a second new small change.

If, for any reason, you find yourself forgetting to continue with either of the new behaviors then go back to doing just one.

You want to consistently repeat the new behavior for at least 28 consecutive days to instill a new habit. If two new action steps work then do two as described above.

Give yourself time. Remember that slow and steady gets you there – often more dependably than quick and impetuous. With each small success you feel encouraged to create another success with another new behavior.

3. Be grateful for things you do not have like illness or discomforts, or pests in your home (of all sizes).

4. Compare your life to that of the rest of the world. You will see that you won the lottery of life. After all, you have access to a computer and know how to use it. You can read and type. You have a home and food. All your needs are met. WOW!

Happiness Tips: 5 Tips To Living in Happiness

Everybody wants to be happier. Most people just do not know how to do that for themselves. These tips will assist you on the road to happiness. Of course just reading them will not make any difference in your life. Choose one, or two—or all five and add them to your routine.

1. Know who you are. Many people describe who they are by sharing what they do. Often they cannot understand the difference between who they are and what they do. For that reason many business executives lose their health and vitality upon retirement. They defined themselves by their jobs and have no identity apart from work. Well, at least that is how they see themselves. Only their viewpoint matters here.

2. Connect with your spirituality. You are a spiritual being having a human experience. Define what spirituality means for you. This is your definition for you. You do not need to share it. In fact, keep it secret because others may try to impose their religious doctrine on you.

3.Determine your spiritual practice. No one came here to gather the most toys. Material things do not go with you when you leave this lifetime. Choose a way to honor the feelings deep within your own heart. Listen with your heart to decide what to do to celebrate that part of you—the part that may have been hiding until recently.

4. Figure out your Life Purpose. Again, you did not come here to make money hands over fist as a soul purpose. Why are you here now in this lifetime? What do you see as your mission of service to others—or to the planet itself?

5.Love yourself first. Look in the mirror. Look right into your own eyes and tell yourself, in no uncertain terms and with a big smile, “I love you.” Say it at least ten times while maintaining eye contact with you. As you look deeply into your own heart you may see yourself morph into other faces. I am not sure what that means. I just don’t want you to think you are seeing things. That change in how your face looks turns out to happen for many people when they begin doing this mirror exercise.

When you know yourself, love yourself and live your Life Purpose you inevitably live in happiness. Nothing can stop you from attracting every good thing you desire.
