Everyone wants to be happy right? Then why are so many people miserable, unable to find happiness for themselves?
These 5 reasons name the biggest obstacles people create to keep happiness away:
1. Instead of looking for ways to feel better they look for ways to stop feeling sad and bad. When you avoid something you lower your energy. But finding happiness requires higher energy, a higher frequency of vibration.
2. People fail to take the time to clearly define what happiness means for them. If you do not know your destination how can you possibly know when you arrive?
You need to get very clear on how your life will unfold each day when you do live in happiness.
3. Before embarking on this new journey to happiness they must first get clear in their present circumstance. What, exactly, is causing them to feel unhappy, crummy sad or bad?
Maybe they do not know the exact cause. Most people have no clue. However they do know what kinds of events trigger their unhappy feelings. When they make time to be with themselves and ask themselves what makes them feel bad their intuition will kick in and tell them what they want to know.
4. They fail to take the starting point information (A) and the desired ending point (B) and make a plan to get from A to B. They do not need to know all the steps. All they need to do is trust that the Universe will provide the synchronistic events that lead them where they want to go.
When the Universe offers a chance to go and do something they must act immediately on that recommendation. Usually they are too lazy or scared to take that inspired action so they slow their progress or even block their path to happiness.
5. They do not really want to be happy. That reason is no trick to explain. People who live in a constant state of unhappiness derive some benefits from staying stuck. Maybe it is their way to get attention and get others to do things for them. Maybe that unhappiness gets them a diagnosis of depression that they then use as an excuse for not being productive or taking care of themselves and their lives.
As a psychotherapist I saw people perpetuate their helpless unhappy states to continue to get welfare and other government support. Actually they could have supported themselves with no problem but felt they preferred not to work when they could get more without doing anything.
Ultimately when people continue to take (thereby working against the Universal Laws of Giving AND Receiving) they become unhappy and resentful for always taking without giving back. So even though, looking from the outside you would think takers have no reason to feel anything but happy, that is not the reality the live.
Did you ever experience something completely unexpected? In fact some so surprising it threw you for a loop? Lots of unexpected strange things happened in my world today so wrote today’s Take 5 Tuesday to tell you about it AND what I did to feel better again.
Leave a commnet and tell me about your own experinces with the unexpected.
Why aren’t you happier? What could possibly be missing from your life?
You have a terrific family who you absolutely adore. Raising your kids gives you great pleasure. OR maybe you work outside your home doing a job that you totally love, a job that positively impacts lives.
When you look around your home you find you have everything you ever wanted – nice comfortable house, great car, your health. All the little luxuries fill your life and you know you can buy anything else you desire – including vacations to get away from your wonderful home.
From outside your life looks like a dream life. You appear to be completely happy. Ah, but appearances mask reality.
For you something is missing. You cannot put your finger on it. You just know there is a boredom factor in your world – when you find time to yourself you notice that uneasiness.
You may even sense a gaping hole in your being. You have no clue how to fill it so you keep yourself busy so as not to notice it. You definitely do not want to bring attention to what makes you feel bad because, as you probably discovered already, what you focus on expands in your life.
Okay, if you do not focus on that indefinable feeling how do you eliminate it so you can finally feel complete? Take an inventory of your life.
Sit down with pen and paper (do not use your computer. You want this to be hands on.) Write down each area of your life that matters to you. Make sure to include mental well being, physical health, spirituality, money matters, fun and recreation, relationships (with yourself and with others).
Now take each area one by one. Determine your status in that part of your life. Write down all the good feeling events and memories that come to you. Take the time to write all the memories.
When you finish you will notice that some of the lists are longer than others. Go back and see if you can think of anything else to add to the lists with only a few events listed.
When you feel done rate each area as to how content you feel. Use a scale of 1-10 with 10 being totally fulfilled, couldn’t be better to 1 being this is really missing for my life. Be brutally honest here. No one will see your list but you.
Take the areas where you rated less than 5. Write down what you think is missing from each that will bring the rating up to the next digit. So if you scored a 5 how will that area of your life look when you are at a 6?
Hold on to that picture in your mind. Write it down. Find a picture of that situation for you. You do not need to figure out how you will get there. Just keep that picture in your heart and mind.
Sure, you want to jump right to the 10. You set yourself up for failure if you try to make such a big leap when you have not gotten close naturally.
By going up one digit at a time you make it all the way to 10. Little steps will get you where you want to go.
Your results may surprise you.
In this energy age alternative healthcare practitioners and metaphysicians uncover evidence that the body, mind and spirit work in ways that actually could lead to immortality.
In fact, they say the body was designed never to age or die. We make death happen.
As a Specialized Kinesiologst I see exactly how we create our conditions, leave ourselves open to injuries and cause conditions that age our bodies. The answers lie in the new age thought that we are energy. Pure and simple, everything about our bodies and our word is energy.
Consider that your body needs a precise quantity of energy to do what it needs to each day – some measurable number of units of energy. To illustrate my discussion let’s say you need 100 circuits of energy to make it through each day and get all the physical and emotional tasks done that compose your life. I include things like breathing, blinking your eyes, walking around, eating food, etc. (Yes. It takes energy to chew and digest food.)
Imagine you open your eyes in the morning. Before you get out of bed you think about the meeting today at the office, the one with the client you really despise. You lose 3 units of energy and you have not even gotten out of bed yet!
You mosey to the bathroom and notice your back feels stiff. There go another 3 units of energy.
By the time you get to your car, start your daily commute and hit your first red light, you are running on half the energy you need to make it through the day.
Where did your energy go? It went into a past that is no longer exists – except in your memory! Why are you pouring energy into keeping something painful alive?
If you stop to take inventory you likely rehash old arguments and wrongdoings against you (in your opinion) all day long very day. It is your habitual way of being and you may not even do it in your awareness. No matter if you know you do it or not you steal your day’s energy to feed the past.
Even when you play you expend energy. All day long you spend your energy account. Only by dinnertime you have overdraw your daily allotment.
What happens then? You borrow from your cells. What happens when you take energy from your cells? Your organs have to slowly shut down.
You see medical doctors cannot diagnose such actions. They aid you only now when something is awry after the organs lost so much integrity they function at maybe 30% of what they should be doing.
You lose energy every day because of your emotions and your activities. Which would be okay if you replenished those energy units. However you do not spend enough time sleeping at the deep level to repair your cells, grow healthy new cells and restore your energy to its full value.
What if you could recoup your needed energy each night? Organs would not shut down. Your body would not deteriorate. All of you would enjoy full integrity and maximum functioning every day—free from pain, free from illness. Your immune system could fend off anything.
The documented longest-lived man lived about 250 years.
Your life looks pretty good when you step back and look at all your have – nice home, car, friends, family that love you, a career (which may include being a stay-at-home mom), health and the material things that make life comfortable.
So how come you feel empty somehow? You sense something is missing but you have no idea what.
So you ask yourself, ”Is this all there is?” And you wonder why you are here in this lifetime. And then you wonder who you really are.
You make a list of who you see yourself to be which ultimately only defines the many roles you play: partner, daughter, sister, mother, colleague, friend, etc. It doesn’t take long to realize that list merely describes what you do, the various identities you live in relation to all the people in your world.
But you are not those different identities. You are one person. Who?
Ah ha! Now you know what is missing – you. You have no idea who you are. I am not talking about what you do or what you have but who you are at a Spirit/Soul level.
Realize that you are a Divine Being living a human experience. You are not that human. You are the Divine Spirit. Exactly who is that Divine Spirit, that core that is the True Self called you?
Chances are that you neglected finding your True Self because you didn’t even realize your human suit is not who you really are. Right now your ego mind, fearing its demise, is telling you how ridiculous all this information is as it struggles to get you to stop reading your Truth.
The reason you feel something is missing despite your many material possessions is that none of those things that exist outside of yourself can make you happy. All the things in the world cannot bring you peace or joy on a permanent basis. All those intangibles, what really matters in life, exist within you.
Meditation may allow you to visit those places (peace, calm, etc.) but the only way to live there is to know your Spirit – the True You who you were at birth. That immortal part of you has zero limits. That part of you knows there are endless possibilities for you allowing you to create the spiritual world where communication with your Spirit happens constantly.
When you connect with your True Self you get 100% accurate information about what to do all day long – and long term too. You know that assistance is always with you because that energy is you.
